Before you is the recording of Stangliczky's live performance at the Art Mill in Szentendre, Budapest (Hungary) on August 19th 2008.
Performed piece was composed during the ESD residency as a final result of 3 weeks spent on board depicting the special ESD-Danube experience.

European Sound Delta is a traveling artistic residency that took place during summer 2008 : two boats simultaneously navigated upstream on the Rhine and Danube rivers from the North Sea and the Black Sea to finally meet in Strasbourg. On board and in each of the stopover cities, thirty international artists were invited to record their sound environment (field recordings, interviews, electromagnetic and sub-aquatic spheres...) and to use the shared sound materials to compose pieces and produce live concerts along the itinerary.

At the end of this trip, a floating listening lounge is unfolding as an Archipelago of creations : embarked on a specially fitted sightseeing boat (under the boat transparent ’bubble’ roof : a 3000 Watts and a quadraphonic sound system), one will discover there the sound pieces created on board by the residents but also the imaginary audio landscapes from ten guest composers. These seven cruises along the Strasbourg canals will each be punctuated by a live performance taking place in a different background each time. At the same time, on the "Nuits Electroniques de l’Ososphère"’ site, the Mirror Ball installation will display visual documentation of the two parallel journeys...

BibliotekaDiskoteka 002 Music & Peotry / K.O.F.Y. - Return of the secretary general EP

K.O.F.Y is Winston Kofy Ahman, music producer and spoken word artist. He combines dub, hip hop and world sounds with spoken word poetry, rooted in his Nigerian-Jamaican descent. Ahman started as a crack dealer in his home town Lagos, Nigeria in the late seventies, but soon got involved in politics. For engaging in various activities against the rule of General Obasanjo, he spent a total of seven years in prison, where he once allegedly shared a cell with the great Fela Kuti. During the eighties, Ahman fled Nigeria and moved first to Kingston, Jamaica and then to Miami, Florida, where he got his moniker K.O.F.Y., working as a doorman in a Latino gay bar. By the arrival of the Bush administration in 2001, Ahman left the USA in fear of deportation and moved to Basel, Switzerland. In 2008, he got involved in music, making beats on his laptop and improvising a set of self-centered post-political lyrics. His first album under the title “Return of the Secretary General EP” is now available as a free download on MySpace. K.O.F.Y has recently moved to Belgrade
